This has been a time of changes.
It’s appropriate really, as the Sun went into Aries on March 20th.
This marks the new Astrological year.
Since then there’s been a Full Moon (Aries-Libra) on March 23rd and a New Moon on 7th April, with the Sun and Moon only 2 degrees away from Uranus, the planet of revolution and change.
The New Moon sets the tone for the month and having Uranus highlighted so strongly as part of that configuration means we can expect this month to be full-on with changes, especially in the areas of technology and New Age thinking.
The chart shown applies to Sydney and has an incredible focus on home-life and motherhood, so expect big changes in those areas as well as emphasis on career and life purpose.
So, if you live in Sydney, watch out for some “interesting” times over the next few weeks.
My Move To Windows 10
Speaking about technology, I finally succumbed to the nagging I was getting from Microsoft regarding upgrading my computer to Windows 10.
I was very happy with things under Windows 7 – they worked.
Not only did they work, but they worked the way I liked them and so I was very resistant to changing.
I’d done a bit of research and spoken to some IT geeks I’m friendly with (yes, it is possible to be friendly with a geek) and the message was, “wait until about October before switching”.
I hung out for as long as I could and resisted the reminders each time I switched on the computer.
However, once it started with “would you like to upgrade now or postpone it until tonight?” I finally succumbed.
Important message there re sales technique – tell the prospect of your offer and then after a while (when you think you’ve worn them down) take the presumptive route of “are we starting tomorrow or next week?”
So, I gave in and ran the upgrade.
It was relatively smooth and things have pretty much continued as normal.
Of course, there were some hiccoughs because Microsoft considers that the US is the whole world and so settings like date and time were reset to US formats – annoying but easily correctable and so not a disaster.
Apart from that things are working as they should and so that’s one change which has gone well.
Changing Phones
My other technological change was Danita and my phones.
This came about as a result of something, which at first, appeared to be a disaster.
I got an SMS from Vodafone (our provider) saying I’d gone over my data allowance and was going to be charged an extra $90 for the month, which hadn’t yet finished.
Going into a mild (well maybe not so mild) panic, I immediately called Vodafone (and got great support very quickly).
The data usage was clearly unusual and I couldn’t understand why it had suddenly gone ballistic.
Until….
I remembered I’d changed a setting which meant that the photos on the phone were being uploaded to Dropbox automatically.
Under normal circumstances that’s a very good thing to do, because it means my photos can now be accessed from the computer without me having to upload each one individually.
However, because there are a LOT of photos and I stupidly didn’t select the box which said only to upload when connected to WiFi my data allocation for the next six months has suddenly been used up.
Feeling very sheepish because it was my doing I was getting my head around the fact that I was going to be paying a LARGE phone bill this month.
And then it happened…
The girl I was speaking with (I think her name was Claire) commented that I was on a very old plan.
I knew that (it had been set up in 2010 and withdrawn by Vodafone very quickly because they realised it was too good for the customer and not so good for Vodafone).
However, times change and what was a great deal back then had been superseded.
After some discussion we arrived at an arrangement whereby I could improve on my plan AND reduce the cost of Danita’s plan AND share our data allowance AND pay less per month than we had been.
On top of all that Danita and I could both get new phones AND if we did it immediately the excess $90 would get covered by the new arrangement.
Now, that’s what you call “an offer too good to refuse”.
Tasmania
So, feeling very pleased with the outcome, I got chatting with Claire and it turned out she lives in Tasmania.
As you know, Danita and I have decided to move there, and being able to chat with a local about life on the South Island was very helpful.
All-in-all it’s now a time of major changes for Danita and me which I see as a positive way to utilise the Sun-Moon-Uranus energy I spoke of above.
By the way, keep in mind that if you don’t channel this energy in a way you feel is positive it will find its own expression, which you may not be all that comfortable with.
