Many years a go I gave a talk at a radio club entitled “Your Life As A Radio”.
It was a play on the fact that I was speaking to a group of radio buffs and the person who introduced me referred to Monte Python’s “And now for something completely different”, a very appropriate description.
Here’s the gist of my talk.
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be automatically successful while others always struggle?
Why do some people seem happy irrespective of their external circumstances while others who appear to have everything and yet are miserable?
It’s all about how and what you think.
You Are A Transmitter/Receiver
You’re familiar with the idea of a radio sending signals which another radio receives.
A radio transmitter (radio 1) converts sound into electromagnetic waves which it then sends into the broad environment.
If you have a receiver (radio 2) tuned to the same frequency you can pick up the energy sent out by radio 1 and convert it back into sound.
We operate the same way.
Thought-Forms
Whenever you have a thought or experience an emotion energy is transformed into thought-forms.
These are the signals you send out.
People who are sensitive to these things are able to see the thought-forms we create and I’ve included some examples here.
The one with wings is Peace, the light pyramid or cone is Devotion and the red sparks are Anger.
As we put more energy into a thought or emotion, the associated thought-form becomes more intense.
It’s like one radio station putting out a weak signal while another one puts out a strong signal.
Obviously, the one with the stronger signal (ie more energy) can be received further away and with more clarity and less interference than the one with the weaker signal.
So too, the more energy we put into a thought or feeling the more powerful it is.
Because we’ve created these thought-forms we are particularly tuned in to them.
Thus, if the thoughts you are having are peaceful then the energy you pick up on is also peaceful while if you put out a lot of anger or other negative emotions then what you get in your life is more anger and negativity.
As you can see this is a self perpetuating cycle unless we break it.
We can change this is both directions.
A person who is feeling peaceful may experience something which changes their calm thoughts into anger and vice versa.
The important point is; we are the creators of our experiences.
Someone who believes themselves to be lucky will create thought-forms which engender luck.
They tune in to these and so are constantly receiving messages about how lucky they are.
Naturally, since that is their focus, what they receive from the Universe is luck.
Conversely, someone who feels that things never go right for them will have experiences which reinforce their current thinking.
Henry Ford was right when he said: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
Changing Your Thinking
So how do you change the thought-forms you create?
As you can see the root of it is to change your thinking.
When you find yourself having negative thoughts about yourself or others, stop what you’re doing and look for something positive.
I once spent some time working with a psychologist.
During that period I had some very intense, scary dreams which sent me into a panic.
His advice was to stop and look at the sky and what was around me.
So simple and yet incredibly effective.
Often what we need during times of intense emotion (which creates the most powerful and enduring thought-forms) is a circuit-breaker, something that makes us realise that things aren’t as bad as we thought.
Even if they are as bad as we’d been thinking, stopping ourselves descending in the spiral of negativity helps us get perspective and helps us find a way to take the next step.
This is also why it’s so critical to surround ourselves with positive, uplifting people.
We respond to their thought-forms whether we realise it or not.
However, I’m sure you’ve had experiences where you felt that something was going on but couldn’t explain why you felt that way.
It was probably tuning in to someone else’s radio station.
We Are Energy Beings
Ultimately, we are energy beings.
Here’s a photo of what a person really looks like.
What would your photo look like?
Are you having lots of happy, peaceful thoughts filled with gratitude or full of anger, lust, jealousy.
Keep in mind that people who can see these know how you feel and what you think.
And you thought it was only you who knew what went on in your head – maybe it’s not so.
Now there’s a scary thought, or is it?
