Phew! What a week that’s been.
Starting on Sunday with preparing for a She Business training day, which was on Monday. (More on that later).
Moving house on Wednesday.
Designer Chicks birthday party Saturday night and wrap it all up with a big cleanup day on Sunday (on lots of different levels).
So, back to the She Business training day. (As you know Danita is the General Manager of SB and I look after the IT and general infrastructure.) We started the day with a review of our new admin processes which have been developed since we implemented InfusionSoft at the beginning of the year. If you’ve been involved in an InfusionSoft implementation you know what “a world of pain” means. If not, you’re fortunate.
However, like childbirth, the pain has resulted in a system which will take She Business to a new level of ability to provide support and customer service to its members.
After the introduction to our new admin systems the rest of the day was a workshop run by Lorna Patten of Open Up Communications.
Lorna is an amazing lady and to experience her work is always rewarding, often challenging and sometimes confronting. As her business name suggests she is able to create an environment where a great deal of deep and intimate communication occurs.
Tuesday was spent implementing the web pages for the She Business Emerald program.
Wednesday we moved house from (suburban) North Ryde to (bushy) Galston. I’ve included a couple of photos to show you our new outlook.
Danita and I are quite impressed (yes we are biassed) with our ability to relocate. From starting the packing process at 8am Wednesday morning we were moved, unpacked and operational again by 6pm – a total of 10 hours.
This house is beautiful. It’s owned by an a sculptor/teacher couple and so is full of incredible pieces of sculpture (he works predominantly in stainless steel and glass) and other artworks. As well as that it’s in a lovely rural location with a citrus orchard (lemons, oranges and mandarins) and so our daily intake of fruit has just skyrocketed (probably not a bad thing).
The big surprise for us was the constant hum of traffic from Galston Gorge. It’s noisier here than North Ryde, where we were two blocks from Lane Cove Road. While surprising, it’s not disturbing and so, after a whole five days here we’re loving it. (Talking about loving, it was pointed out that bed we’re using has a base with nine dragons carved into it. This is supposed to have aphrodisiac effects – so I was told. So far I can’t attest to that – maybe one of the dragons isn’t quite right???)
Next week I’ll include photos of some of the sculptures.
Danita & I wrapped up the week with some intense discussions, which left us drained and exhausted but clearer in many ways about how we interact with each other. There’s a quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin “I’m a spiritual being having a human experience”. Sometimes this “human experience” can be really tedious. On the other hand it has some great benefits.
That’s been our week. How was your’s?
